It’s an interesting space to be in as someone who has quite anarchic social values as well as notions of bodily/mental autonomy to be very much into power/authority exchange – however BDSM power structures are ones we negotiate DESPITE societal norms – & can be subversive.

To be able to hold the juxtaposition of autonomy, mutual respect, compassion & love while engaging in acts of degradation, control, violence & power is an incredibly subversive concept to me, I see it as a vital outlet of the primal energies of a species that is still so close to the primal violence of our ancestors, and a way to transmute that energy and drive into something transcending the brutal origins, and harnessing the power for connection, exploration and evolution.

Also, it’s hot as fuck and I love it so. ;P
