Show me the narrative that flows beneath the surface - the one that lets you step out of the mask you didn’t choose and into what you desire. There is no judgement here. A surface toying with the more familiar erotic fantasies such as school teacher and student, employer and employee, hanging power exchange onto experiences that are common is one way to easily step into power roles and simple sexy fun. Or perhaps you want to see a deeply unethical doctor or scientist, who will explore, experiment and violate you with a professional detachment, latex gloves and dreams of stainless steel. We can drop deeper, into more taboo places such as mummy / daddy role plays, incest scenarios, where we can explore fantasies of forbidden erotic intimacy. Pet and animal play; as an allowance to drop into primal, animalistic places - simpler, embodied and shameless experiences of the erotic and our bodies, especially if we live too much in our heads. We can go right to the edges, torturer, killer and victim, letting our darkest fantasies of consensual non-consent play out; the closeness of death, danger and violence can be a powerful aphrodisiac. Playing out fantasies in a safe container that would be completely unethical and harmful in reality is healthy - my philosophy is that the suppression and unconscious redirection of dark desires can in fact be far more harmful than the healthy boundaried exploration of them; and we can see this in the shape of toxic relationships in personal and societal scales. Exploring past trauma is another more fraught possibility, but one which can be powerful - rexperiencing / reprocessing can help move blockages and bring flow to broken spaces, being witnessed and held, being in a situation where it is your agency that shapes the narrative and able to be in control are all powerful experiences. This is a form of role play that requires deep negotiation and I always tread carefully; it’s definitely not a space for everyone or for a casual approach - and in most cases I will ensure that external supports and mental health pathways are in place before entering into these exchanges. There are deeper archetypes, god and goddess forms, and stepping into ritual in these spaces with intention and purpose, channelling and invoking to step outside ourselves into something vast and eternal. A myriad of possibilities, of aspects we can explore that can paradoxically bring us closer to the truth of ourselves.
